Air Experience Flight (AEF)

Air Experience Flight (AEF)

Come for a flight with Southern Cross Gliding Club today and experience the thrills of soaring like a bird. Air Experience Flights (AEF) are a great option for those taking their first flight in a glider.

What do I get?

You will be treated to a flight with one of our experienced instructors in a dual seat aircraft. A Pawnee tug aircraft will tow your glider to 3300ft, after which the glider releases from the tow aircraft. Soaring will be demonstrated providing a birds' eye view of the local area with plenty of photo opportunities, should you desire. Normally you would also be invited to join the instructor on the controls and get a feel for flying the aircraft.

What does it cost?

Air Experience Flights (AEF) cost $180 including GST. This charge includes a temporary three day membership with the Gliding Federation of Australia, insurance and a commemorative certificate complete with photograph.

Special Offer

Purchase an Air Experience Flight and you will be eligable to book up to another two Air Experience Flights for just $110 each including GST. These flights can be purchased for you, your family or your friends. These extra flights must be purchased within three months of the initial Air Experience Flight.

Restrictions

Unfortunately, we are unable to carry any passengers weighing over 110kg. This is a legal weight restriction.

Southern Cross Gliding Club also reserves the right to refuse flight for minors. Generally speaking, minors should be tall enough so that they can see outside the cockpit. We must also be confident that they will not play with the controls or become distressed during flight.
